What is Custom Metal Fabrication?

We at RC Industries specialize in custom metal fabrication. However, that doesn’t do you much good unless you understand exactly what custom metal fabrication is and how it benefits you. Let’s take a closer look at how metal fabrication works and what you can design from it.

Exactly What is Custom Metal Fabrication?

Put simply, metal fabrication is simply the process of building any item out of metal. Custom metal fabrication is the process of designing and building a metal object for one specific purpose. For instance, if you are looking for an after-market bumper or toolbox for your truck, our trained professionals can create one from scratch that is specifically tailored to your needs. Custom metal fabrication is both a skill and an art, and it makes the lives of our customers much easier!

What Can We Do At RC Industries?

We don’t take custom metal fabrication lightly! Our passion is to delight our customers with the highest-quality toolboxes, bumpers, and specially-fabricated parts. We accomplish this goal through the following tasks.

  • Engineering

We use updated software to ensure that each product we design is durable, built to last, and most importantly, satisfies the customer. We use Solid Works, AutoCAD, and Mechanical Desktop, as well as additional nesting software.

  • Assembly

Our staff is ready to process and assemble your orders, no matter your needs or wants. Custom metal fabrication means that you decide how custom!

  • Welding

We use both robotic tools and manual skills to ensure properly-welded toolboxes, metal parts, and custom bumpers.

  • Forming

Of course, to create custom metal products, we must have tools that allow us to bend and form the metal. We offer Precision Forming up to 16’ and 400 tons, forming corners, trays, panels, etc. according to your custom order.

  • Punching

If you aren’t familiar with punching in metal fabrication, it simply refers to the act of putting a hole through a sheet of metal. We perform our metal punching using a CNC Hydraulic and Mechanical Turret Press, which is able to handle 48” x 120” metal sheets.

  • Laser Processing

Laser cutting plays an important (and fun) role in cutting cleanly through metal products. We use lasers for cutting up to ⅝” mild steel, 3/16” aluminum, and 3/16” stainless steel.

  • Hardware Insertion

Hardware insertion refers to the rivets, nuts, and hinges we insert within custom metal parts (or toolboxes).

  • Finishing

We finish our products in an automated 5-stage powder coating, in custom colors. We take care when finishing each part to ensure everything looks great, functions well, and meets your expectations.

  • Packaging

We use a large orbital wrapper to wrap large metal loads for shipping, ensuring that you receive your custom part in gleaming condition.
